The London Story has submitted feedback on the draft inception report for the trade sustainability impact assessment of the EU-India trade and investment agreement. We highlight urgent problems with the use of language, including adopting the term “anti-national”, suggest reformulations and expansions upon formulations, seek clarification on the methodology used to assess human rights impacts and weigh evidence, provide additional material to be consulted, and call for stronger language that recognises the active persecution of civil society.
